Ecosse Heretic Titanium Tagged as World's most Expensive Bike
Ecosse Heretic Titanium gets the distinction of being the most expensive bike to hit the roads, at a record price of $273,200. If you glance at its features, you will surely understand why! To begin with, the major fraction of the bike, the engine, is made from a solid block of billet aluminum, with attributes such as, a race-spec crankshaft, a supercharger, intercooler and fuel injection. The 2147 cc engine pumps out a massive 207bhp and an equally hefty 218ftlb of torque. There are other parts in the machine, battling to beat the engine, especially its hand built titanium chassis, designed by specially qualified titanium welders, molding the infamously expensive metal into frames. The list of its fantabulous parts seems never ending, the custom-made ISRs brakes, race-spec carbon fibred bodywork formed in an autoclave, and an expensive BRM chronograph watch matching each bike, to name a few. The materials used to manufacture this beauty are lightweight and thus assist in cutting down the weight of the product to 192kg!
The V-Rex Dreambike: A dream come true
An Australian 3D designer Tim Cameron drew a sketch of a ‘dreambike’ on a piece of paper back in December 2003. Then, an engineering whiz kid Christian Travert, US based, who already has the honor to build the real 200mph ‘Y2K’ jet turbine-powered bike (fastest production motorcycle in the world) made this concept production-ready and dubbed the machine ‘V-Rex.’
Although the V-Rex hasn’t seen the day’s light, pre-orders have started popping in like anything. Startlingly, the dreambike will hit the American roads at the Daytona Bike Week.
World Fastest Bike
MTT Turbine Superbike also called as Y2K is the world fastest bike. It is the first turbine powered bike. It has a power of 300 hp and 425 FT/LBS of torque. There are 10 bikes in the world right now 4 of them in US and one owned by jay leno. The bike is made up of carbon filled monocoque chassis and is powered by Rolls Royce Allison 25O-C18 turbine jet engine. With such a power the bike could go from 0-227 in 15 seconds. The engine used in bike was originally designed for helicopter. Cost of bike a whopping $185,000
